 Relaxing . . sometimes boring . . August 11, 2010

The level of performance is mainly high on these 99 tracks, but some 20 or 30 tracks are poorly recorded . . as the Gadfly track . . a really wretched try. Mostly I am suspicious of anything called Relaxing, I like my classics in close and expertly done. Many of these tunes I just do not like . . but most of them are a wonderful addition to my library! The price ($1.99) was right!! I will just delete a few tracks! I am a happy camper!

This was a great price (Free), how could I go wrong?
Even if it has a small cost, it is great mellow music and I plan to use it to fall asleep to or just to mellow out after a difficult day.

yes, you read that correctly. I am a hip hop producer, and most of my compositions come from the sampling, chopping, and rearranging of pieces of classical music and folk music from around the world in order to create a streetworthy re-envisioning of music from the past. While Youtube is often a fantastic source for discovering classical pieces and folk music, nothing compares to the digital crate diving here on amazon (I don't use itunes). When I saw these classical collections for $1.99 it was worth a look just to see what was in the collections. After listening to a few of the tracks, I bought the Handel and Relaxing collections. 198 songs for 3.98 is an unbeatable deal, but the value of this music goes far beyond its price.
As I said, I am a hip hop producer, and it is precisely the classical genre which I have tapped the most for my compositions. This collection is packed with material that seemed to have been composed for me and my ilk in this day and age, with digital samplers and music software. The collection is very peaceful, and would be an appropriate backdrop to a night of reading or a Sunday drive on the coast. A versatile yet harmoniously well picked assortment of songs, from the baroque age to some more contemporary pieces, it would be easy to recommend this collection to a wide variety of people. I have already pointed a few of my producer friends to this URL to purchase the collection. It will be interesting to see how we use the new material.
The collection isn't filled with riveting crescendos or somber liturgies, but I think that was intentional. It's a collection of relaxing music, that rises and falls with slow scales and flat arpeggios that captivate and inspire. Of course, I'm speaking from the perspective of someone that is about to tear these songs apart and mix them with 1970's funk drums, but I think I have made my point.
If you're looking for a good collection of very relaxing, good-quality music, then the value and the content simply cannot be outmatched.

I love Clasical music. I cannot tell you who wrote it or what Sonata it is but it just speaks to my soul This is a soothing collection and I was just shocked at the wonderful quality of each piece. For just two small pennies a song you just cannot beat it.
Has some of my most favorite works by well known symphonies. Performed from all over the world. A great addition to my iPod. Thanks Amazon for such a wonderful collection.
